The short version

1. Who we are

Door Scout is operated by Door Scout Sales Services LLC, a Utah limited liability company ("Door Scout," "we," "us," or "our"). We are building software for door-to-door sales teams. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you visit doorscout.net (the "Site") or contact us.

2. What this policy covers

This policy covers the Site as it exists today: a pre-launch page where you can join a list to be notified when Door Scout is available. It also covers emails you send to us and emails we send to you.

It does not cover the Door Scout application, which has not launched yet. Before the application launches, we will publish an updated or separate privacy policy that describes the information the application handles. We will not collect any application data before you have had the chance to review that policy.

We may also disclose information:

6. We don't sell or "share" your information

We do not sell personal information, and we have not sold it in the past 12 months. We do not "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under California law, and we do not use it for targeted advertising. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.

7. Emails from us

When you join the launch list, we send you one automatic email confirming your sign-up. After that, we will email you about Door Scout's launch and closely related updates. Every email we send to the launch list, including the confirmation, includes an unsubscribe link that takes effect as soon as you confirm. You can also unsubscribe at any time by emailing support@doorscout.net. We will honor unsubscribe requests sent by email within 10 business days. We will not add you to unrelated mailing lists or give your email address to anyone else to market to you.

8. How long we keep information

We may keep information longer when the law requires it or when it is needed to resolve disputes or enforce our rights.

9. Your choices and rights

Regardless of where you live, you can ask us to:

To make a request, email support@doorscout.net from the email address you signed up with, and tell us what you would like us to do. We may need to confirm that the request really comes from you before acting on it, usually by replying to that address. We will respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we'll tell you why, and we may extend the period by up to 45 additional days where the law allows. You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, and we may ask for proof of that authorization. We will not treat you differently or deny you anything because you exercised these rights.

If we decline a request, we will explain why. You may appeal by replying to our decision with the subject line "Privacy appeal," and we will respond to your appeal within 60 days.

10. State-specific information

California

In the past 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information, as defined by California law: identifiers (email address and IP address) and internet or other electronic network activity information (browser type, pages requested, and submission timestamps). We collected them from you directly and from your browser or device, for the purposes described in Section 4, and disclosed them only to the service providers listed in Section 5. We do not collect sensitive personal information through the Site.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. Because the Site does not track visitors across websites or over time, and does not sell or share personal information, there is no tracking for these signals to switch off. We treat all visitors the same way whether or not their browser sends them.

"Shine the Light." California residents may ask whether we have disclosed personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We have not.

Utah and other states

Several states, including Utah, give residents specific privacy rights. We extend the rights described in Section 9 to every visitor, whether or not a particular state's privacy law applies to us.

11. How we protect information

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. The Site is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections, access to sign-up data and our business email is limited to people who need it to run Door Scout, and we rely on established providers with their own security programs. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a security breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

12. Children's privacy

The Site is intended for businesses and working professionals. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Where information is processed

Door Scout is based in the United States. Our service providers may process information in the United States and in other countries where they operate. If you visit the Site from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Door Scout grows, including before our application launches. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and update the "last updated" date above. If we make a material change to how we use information we already have, we will notify you by email before the change takes effect if you are on our launch list, and we will ask for your consent where the law requires it.
